Invitation to Participate
The PelvEx 2025 organising committee invites participants to submit abstracts on pelvic exenteration for the upcoming 2025 conference. The event will be held on Friday 17 October and Saturday 18 October 2025 in Sydney, Australia.
All submissions will be assessed, and successful abstracts will be offered either oral, virtual poster, or video presentations according to the initial judging round.
Abstract Guidelines
Please read the following instructions carefully. Submissions that do not abide by these guidelines will not be considered. All submissions must be in English.

ORIGINALITY
Abstracts submitted for PelvEx 2025 must be original and must not have been published or accepted for publication in whole or in part before 1 August 2025.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST
Any conflict of interest must be disclosed during the submission process.
NUMBER OF SUBMISSIONS
Presenting authors may submit a maximum of 2 (two) abstracts for consideration.

Title of Abstract
The title of your abstract must be 30 words or less. This does not contribute to the overall word count in the body of the abstract.
Author Information
List each author using their first name and last name in full, affiliation and email. Do not identify author’s credentials including degree or professional title (Prof, Dr, MD, etc.). Each author should have made a significant contribution to the work presented.
Body
The body of the abstract should not exceed 300 words and requires the following content:
Introduction: a maximum of three sentences stating the study background, which should include the hypothesis/objectives
Methods: a brief statement of methods used
Results: a summary of the results, including statistical findings. It is not satisfactory to state “results will be discussed” or “data will be presented”
Conclusions: a statement of conclusions reached, their relevance to practice, and their significance.
Further requirements for the body of the text are:
A maximum of 2 images of tables/graphs can be uploaded and will not be considered as part of the word count. We will not consider uploads that exceed the number of tables and graphs allowed.
Use numbers to indicate values (2 instead of “two”)
Standard abbreviations may only be used after the full term has been included followed by the abbreviation in brackets.
Use generic drug names.
Do not identify authors or institutions in the text.
Avoid the use of references unless necessary. References will contribute to the word limit and should have the full reference/s listed at the end of the abstract.

2. Please check your submission thoroughly including author names and affiliations, spelling and grammar before submitting as no revisions/corrections can occur once submitted.
3. To submit your abstract, you will be required to provide:
a. Consent and confirmation that all listed authors agree with the submission for presentation at PelvEx Sydney 2025;
b. Confirmation of relevant ethics approval and governance authorisation for use of data and/or video recordings;
c. Permission to make the abstract publicly available within the conference website, and other channels.
4. Once submitted an email confirmation will be sent to applicants which can be shared with co-authors.
REGISTRATION
If your abstract is accepted, you must register for the conference by Monday 15 September 2025 and pay the relevant registration fees. Successful candidates who are not registered will not be permitted to present their abstracts at the conference.

Blurb
Video abstracts must be accompanied by a short blurb describing the content presented that is 100 words or less.
Video Abstract
Video abstracts are specifically reserved for demonstrating surgical techniques and procedural approaches. These should include footage of the actual surgical procedure with clear audio narration explaining the technique.
Technical Requirements:
Maximum Duration: 5 minutes
Maximum File Size: 500 MB
Required Narration: English
Preferred Resolution: 1280×720p (16:9 aspect ratio) HD video
Acceptable File Formats: mp4, avi, mpeg4
Content Guidelines:
Ensure all videos protect patient anonymity and integrity
IMPORTANT: Remove ALL product logos and product names from your video (videos containing product names or logos will be automatically disqualified).
